Foundations

Foundations represents an important period in the development of my practice. These paintings explore geometric structure, spatial relationships, and the tension between construction and improvisation. Working through abstraction, I was drawn to the ways simple forms could create complex systems of connection, movement, and balance.

Many of the concerns that define my current work first emerged here. Architectural references, layered spaces, and interconnected forms began to replace purely formal compositions, creating paintings that suggested larger frameworks beyond the edges of the canvas.

Viewed together, these works reveal the early stages of an ongoing investigation into structure, systems, and the built environment. They mark the point where an interest in abstraction began to evolve into a broader exploration of the visible and invisible frameworks that organize contemporary life.
