Artist Statement
My work explores the relationship between human experience and the built environment through abstract compositions of color and geometric form. I create spatial environments where defined structures interact with fluid fields of color, balancing intention and improvisation to produce dynamic, immersive visual experiences.
I draw inspiration from the systems that organize contemporary life, including physical infrastructure such as power lines, crosswalks, and conduits, as well as invisible networks like wireless communication and data transmission. Though often overlooked, these systems shape how we move, connect, and perceive our surroundings. My background in engineering and interest in architecture inform the rhythm, order, and spatial logic that underpin each work.
Color is central to my process. Through layering, contrast, and subtle shifts in tone, I construct compositions that alter perception and create a sense of depth and atmosphere. These environments invite sustained engagement, where visual clarity and emotional resonance coexist.
I approach abstraction as a means of revealing the underlying structures that shape contemporary experience. By engaging both visible and invisible systems, my work explores the tension between structure and spontaneity, the physical and the intangible, and the evolving systems that quietly shape contemporary life.
